2 months agoWe stopped here some time back travelling to Houston and staying in El Campo for the night. Immediately upon entering and choosing a table (which was NOT reserved), we were told we had to pick a different table. It seems one of their entitled regular customers must have bought the table. The food was ok and tables were unique though it was a bit pricey for the lousy service provided. To put a positive spin on this review, we will definitely explore other dining alternatives if we are back in town someday.

3 months agoAmazing food! Being Indian, I’m particular about spice levels, and this was just right. The dishes were well cooked and full of authentic, flavorful taste.

3 months agoI went to have breakfast this morning at this place… it's the second time I've had the same waitress with an angry and arrogant attitude. She left my drink, it was about 10 minutes later that I asked her for a straw. She always has the same attitude. I think she should be setting an example for the younger waitresses, but she's doing it the wrong way.

5 months agoI had a wonderful experience at Laura’s Cafe. The food was absolutely amazing. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. What really stood out though was the outstanding customer service. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great Mexican food and a welcoming atmosphere!

6 months agoDon’t go here if you are Caucasian and would like to get service. Me and my wife got sat, ordered our food and then never seen the waitress again. She would check on people around us but she would not stop and check on us it was ridiculous. Only reason for the stars is the food is actually really good!

2 years agoDriving through El Campo for the first time on the way to the beach and every single restaurant in town had ZERO cars in the parking lot! The only places that were busy were the same ol fast food joints in every toen. As we approached the south side of town near 59 we found this little gem! We were towing a camper and we needed plenty of space to drive through a parking lot. There were a few cars in the parking lot too indicating there were just more than employees here and still plenty of room to pull through with a truck and camper. As mentioned in other reviews the restaurant does look dark from the outside but that's probably because of the tint on the windows to keep it cooler in the summertime. The restaurant is small but very clean and the two servers handled all the tables very well! Our food took less than 15 minutes to come out and it was delicious! My son got the bean and cheese nachos which were just okay but perfect for a child. I got the smothered chicken with crawfish and shrimp which was very delicious! It's hard to cook chicken breasts and it not be dry. The chef here cooked the chicken to the right temp to keep it moist which made it fork tender. If you're driving through El Campo or if you're looking for a stop right off of highway 59 this is your place to go for good Tex Mex! Oh and top of it all....the Modelo was only $5!

9 years agoIts ok, Great friendly service. Is not very attractive on location. Looks like a club from the outside with dark windows and all the pot holes on the ground. Not a big fan of the bean burrito. Fajitas were a horrible cut of meat. Tried to hide the fact it was a bad cut of meat by marinating the meat a lot. Flavor was decent. Beans ok, rice no flavor . Flies inside, wouldn't let me eat my meal lol. Corn tortilla no Flavor.
